This is Ernest George Alberque, Sr., on his Niagara Falls
honeymoon with his second wife, Antoinette Anna Grossjung, in
June of 1906.
Ernest George, born October 12, 1875
in Buffalo, NY, married his first wife,
Margaret Agnes McNally (Alberque Wives), on November 24, 1897 at the Church of St. Agnes, 143
E.43 St., New York. They had four children: Cecilia Gertrude, Ernest
George Jr.,
Rose Margaret, who died of rheumatic heart condition at the age of 9 in
February, 1912 (she is buried at St. Joseph's
Cemetery, Hackensack, NJ), and Paul who had polio and was paralyzed on one side, using braces and a crutch. He
died at the age of 11 in March, 1915 after contracting measles. (He is also buried at St. Joseph's, Hackensack, NJ.) Margaret
died of tuberculosis in 1905 and was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Long Island
City, NY, on Feb. 20, 1905.
Ernest and Antoinette Anna Grossjung
(Alberque Wives), his second
wife who was born February 29 (leap year) 1884 in Paterson, NJ, had four
children: Lester William, Howard Joseph, Edward Anthony and Mary
Pauline.
Ernest George died in Ridgefield
Park, NJ, on August 9, 1943 and is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in
Hackensack, NJ.
Antoinette Grossjung Alberque died
on April 27, 1968 and is also buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in
Hackensack, NJ.
